About 1984

1984 Arcade in its basic form is a classic 1980s Style Arcade. Here at 1984 we feature games from the 80's as well as a few from the 70's and 90's if they "fit".  As you enter 1984 you pay five dollars at the door and then you can play all the video games you want. *We do offer Pinball for 25 cent per play. The games we offer are difficult to find and we are really more then just an arcade - it's a classic gaming museum featuring arcade machines that are just not available to the public anymore. We are especially proud of our collection of Vector games like Asteroids, Deluxe Asteroids, Gravitar, Tempest and BattleZone! You will find almost all the classics here including Space Invaders, Ms. Pac Man, Centipede and many more. We have about 50 games and we rotate new games in almost weekly. Of course we offer private parties and an 80's vibe, complete with music videos from ABC to ZZTop... Its all here at 1984.

Robotron Destroyed! PDF Print E-mail

Very few games keep me coming back to play them again and again. Robotron is one of them.  I did battle with Robo back in the 80s. I worked at Aladdin's Castle at the Battlefield Mall here in Springfield Missouri.  I can't remember my high scores from then, but I do remember struggling to stay alive.  Often all you try to do is survive man to man, desperatly trying to get to the next level.  It was great to finally get Robotron here at 1984.  Devin and I have been trading High Scores from the day it showed up.  A few weeks ago I put up 1.8 million.  I was pretty sure it would stay that way for a while.  Well, "a while" came sooner then I thought.  In walks mild mannered Ben Montoya. Ben is not new to Robotron, he honed his skills on Robotron at  a gas station in Richland.  He had one of his best scores at Chuck e Cheese here in Springfield when he was 15.  Tonight he doubled his old high score.  The new 1984 legends high score for Robotron is 4,310,175 - I know there is guys who can score in the hundreds of millions, but I have been playing Robo for along time and that will be a tough score to beat.  Ben takes home a free pass to 1984  and a high score hall of fame button for his efforts.

UPDATE:  Devin has beat  your score!  The new score is: 5,400,025
